Attention and concentration test practice

Two related demands: sustaining attention on a repetitive checking task without drifting, and monitoring a moving display accurately while it speeds up.

Most of a controller's work is routine scanning punctuated by moments that matter. Selection tests whether your accuracy survives the routine part, because that is when things get missed.

Where the marks go

Watch for the item that is right in every respect but one. Checking tasks are built so that the obvious feature is correct and a second, less salient one is wrong.

Sample question

Concentration

A target letter is named, and it changes on every single item. You decide whether the figure shown is that exact letter with exactly three dots beside it — as fast as you can, for two relentless minutes.

Target letter: R. The figure shows a mirrored R with three dots beside it. Does it match?

What the task looks like

Monitoring

Fast white dots drift and overlap inside a dark circle. You count them and pick the number as quickly as you can. Every correct answer makes the dots move faster; every wrong one slows them down, so the test finds your ceiling and holds you at it.

Counting things that occlude each other while they move is close to the real cognitive demand of scanning a display. The adaptive speed means your score reflects the limit of what you can do, not how many easy items you got through.
