Multi-Tasking

Three tasks at once

Three tasks at the same time — steer through the gates with Up/Down, judge whether each equation is correct, and press Match when the spoken shapes match the ones on screen. Five relentless minutes. Concurrent task handling is exactly what FEAST II's work samples are built to measure.

What to expect

  • Steer the plane through gates (Up/Down) — +3 per gate.
  • Verify equations Correct/Incorrect — +5 each.
  • Match spoken shapes to the screen — +5 each.

What it measures

  • Divided attention
  • Task-switching
  • Workload management

Instructions

  1. 1Keep the plane in the gate gaps — never abandon the flying.
  2. 2Between gates, answer the equation and the shape-match.
  3. 3Listen for the three spoken shapes and press Match only if they match the screen.

Tips

  • Don't tunnel on one task and drop the rest.
  • Flying is continuous; the other two come in rounds.
What the task looks like

Multi-Tasking

Three tasks at once for five minutes: steer through gates with the arrow keys, judge whether each equation flashing up is correct, and press Match when spoken shapes match the ones on screen. None of them stops while you deal with the others.

This is the closest thing in the cognitive battery to what FEAST II's work samples measure. The skill is not doing three things at once — nobody does — it is switching between them cleanly and knowing which one can safely wait.
